Collapse of the World Trade Center (South Tower)
Inside the South Tower
Melissa Doi
Melissa Doi worked on the 83rd floor for IQ Financial Systems. After the crash of Flight 175, she was able to contact 9-1-1 from a stairwell before she perished in the collapse. A portion of the call was made public during the Zacarias Moussaoui trial in April 2006.

Kevin Cosgrove
Kevin Cosgrove was trapped on the 105th floor of the South Tower. He managed to make it down ~20 floors to the 79th floor, but heavy fire and smoke forced him to turn back. He went back up to the 105th floor. He then left a message for his mother, and called his brother. Then, he called 9-1-1 and spoke with the operator. The call was cut off at 9:59 a.m., when the building collapsed.

Don Dahler
"What appeared to happen from my vantage point the top part of the building was totally involved in fire and there was--there appeared to be no effort possible to put that fire out. It looked like the top part of the building was so weakened by the fire that it just--the weight of it collapsed the rest of the building. That's what appeared to happened. I did not see anything happening at the base of the building. It all appeared to start at the top and then just collapse the rest of the building by the sheer weight of the top. There was no explosion or anything at the base part of it. But I did see that the top part of it started to collapse. The walls started to bulge out: bricks, glass, things coming the--coming out, and then it collapsed in on itself. And it appeared to just fold down from there, from the very top." (ABC News)
